Data Manipulations and Automation

Additional value can be realized with practically any CRM system by configuring various data manipulations to take place automatically and behind the scenes. Many of our most satisfied clients have shared that some of their greatest benefits in using GoldMine (our particular CRM of choice) has come about due to our adding various automated customizations.

For many of our clients, an out-of-the-box GoldMine implementation is not the be-all and end-all solution to their needs. Rather, GoldMine itself serves as a solid foundation upon which they can build and grow, by adding various business-specific customizations and automation.

My hope in sharing this information is to potentially help you gain a better vision for where and how we can help your organization go even further.

Here is a sample listing of just some of the value-added projects we have been able to help our clients benefit from:

a) Custom dashboard/report development, including having report results delivered as PDF documents via email. This is very powerful and often overlooked. Just envision opening your email and having whatever reports you need sitting there ready to be reviewed.

b) Automated integration with a data warehouse, moving data bi-directionally between the data warehouse AND GoldMine in a near instant/real-time manner.

c) Automatic group building, providing GoldMine users with a group of their assigned records that meet a variety of criteria. The criteria can be specifically defined to meet your organizations unique needs.

Some criteria used to date:

d) Automatic creation of GoldMine components (e.g. Pending Activity, History Activity, Details, etc.) based on the data on the GM record meeting specific criteria.

e) Automatic deletion of GoldMine components (e.g. Pending Activity, History Activity, Details, etc.) based on the data on the GM record meeting specific criteria.

f) Automatic changing of GoldMine data based on other data on the GM record meeting specific criteria.

g) Automatic moving of complete GoldMine records from one GoldMine database to another GoldMine database, triggered by specific data changes happening on the record.

h) Logging (i.e. documenting who made the change, when the change was made, what the data was changed from and what the data was changed to) any type of GoldMine data changes, including deletions, with the logging happening either internally to GoldMine itself, or within an external database.

i) Automatic updating/changing of GoldMine data based either on passage of time or specific date triggers.

j) Automatic sending of Thank You emails (or any other kind of email), based on various data changes in GoldMine.

k) Automatic imports into and/or exports out of GoldMine.

l) Preventing deletion of History records, except by specifically approved GoldMine users.

m) Custom bidirectional integration between GoldMine and various client accounting systems, manufacturing systems, quoting systems, student systems (Higher Education) and much more. When it comes to custom integrations, we can essentially get any data into or out of GoldMine. Any limits regarding integration is most often dictated by the “other” system, whatever that may be.

In short, when it comes to data manipulations and automation, the sky is pretty much the limit.
